Drea is one of a handful of magical sisters who were all created by the Jade Emperor when he split the world in two in order to keep magic, and its dangers, away from mankind. The sisters are called Immortal Preceptors and they are the only magical or naturally immortal entities capable of traveling between the two worlds. They were created to be the leaders of the Jade Emperor’s Army of Defenders, each taking a turn to find, guide, protect, and instruct new Defenders during their year of power. Each Immortal Preceptor is in charge of the army for one complete rotation through the Zodiac cycle before handing the reigns on to the next sister in line. Drea has lost track of how many cycles she has led, but this time around has been the most memorable in her immortal life and she is only on the Ram.

Phelix Gramson is from the small town of Drouger where he lives with his mom, dad, and older sister. He loves playing soccer, hanging out with friends (especially his best friend Brandon), hiking, building forts, and running. He started the year as a regular kid but everything changed shortly after his twelfth birthday. He has become the newest Defender of Derthal and has quickly realized that his life is going to be anything but normal for the foreseeable future.
